Stravinsky Rose 1080p

Online 720p version of a v2.0 edit of Stravinsky Rose in 1080p submitted to Colour Out of Space 2013.

At Brighton Mini Maker Faire ’13 I bumped into an old acquaintance – Alex Peverett. He mentioned he’d seen a Film Submission / Open Call for Colour Out of Space 2013.

The COOS film programme explores the crossover of experimental sound into moving image – from the direct colour fields and sonic loops of Bruce McClure to the early sound as image experiments of Steina Vasulka, from the hand-painted super 8mm’s and homebuilt electronics of Ian Helliwell to the dime-store psychodramas of George Kuchar. If you make films, videos, animations or any other moving image work and think it should screen at this festival – we’d like to see it. Submissions are accepted on DVD (any region), links to sites are also welcome. Screening formats will include 16mm, 8mm and digital projection. Please include a short synopsis and contact details. Thanks!

This seemed a good opportunity to revisit the Stravinsky Rose in Dome format that I’d produced for the UVM 13 concert at the Buenos Aires Planetarium and re-edit it, using the existing assets, into a more conventional and easier to actually screen HD format. It also gave me the chance to reorder the elements and refine the soundtrack.

The work wasn’t selected for the festival programme… but it was a useful incentive to complete the edit.
